Modern house in Mexico
hi everyone
this is my next project to build the next year (2009) and I feel is missing something, I don’t now what. i really need a comment about this project..thanks LOCATION – Chihuahua, Mexico PROJECT TYPE – single family house PROGRAM – large living / dining space, kitchen, and small bathroom; 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom in upper floor; garage. Design Approach – Modern white house with lot a light, very clear in form, also one mayor concern of the house was to take advantage of the views of the city below... The site is 200 m2 and this is 160 m2 house. Tools/Programs- 3d max for rendering and Autocad for CAD drawings i really need a comment about this project..thanks i little bit more in http://bitacoradeunacasa.blogspot.com/ http://ivanminjarez.blogspot.com/ Last edited by odris; 30-12-2008 at 05:13.. |

hello Odris, on your blog you have a lot more images of the design. Maybe you could post a few of them here and translate some of your ideas to the English language. That would make it a lot easier for us who can't read Spanish to comment on your design.
edit: I can say however your design already looks interesting. Maybe add something that would make it really fit in context, that would make it really Mexican without using corny mcMansion type of elements? Maybe the materials? I don't know without some more info about your design ideas. Also, maybe give the inhabitants several ways to experience the view? Compare the experience when looking at the landscape through 1 big window (which will expose yourself as well), several smaller windows (which will make the landscape more like a painting on the wall) etc. edit 2: you have posted some more but without any text or comments in another topic: single family house in Chihuahua Mexico-admins merge maybe? Thanks for posting, good start, but here are some pointers to improve.
The stairwell can benefit from a bit of shade by pulling the wall next to the door out a little to line up to the outer edge, and creating a bit of a recess and canopy before stepping out immediately to the roof terrace like that. Another way to look at it... it could do with a landing at the door. that roof is gonna get really hot in the summers. You need raised decking / a lawn, or something that basically insulates it from direct radiation. Heat will get trapped in the upper mezzanine level if the glass panels there aren't openable. Handrail detailing could be better - if it is a nice view, and you're already spending so much... why not use glass, or a simpler detail that doesn't fence the view up? Your pool is not in a location beneficial to any view from the living areas, only upon visiting the garden. It should be in a location where perhaps the bedroom or living room looks out to it. |
