Across the harbour we have 3 Apartment blocks by Frank Gehry

Dusseldorf is very proud of them

Gehry Red Brick Building is the least impressive - (I'm not sure about the others either but they are growing on me)

It's like Barcelona is proud of Gaudi's buildings - somehow 3d curves in buildings do seem to capture anyone's attention... it speaks of great effort, cost and determination to go beyond the 4x8 modules most of the world uses. I don't like Gehry's work, nor Gaudi's, but I see the effect such work creates. That's probably why Hans Wegner chairs work so much better than a sharp edged chair because most of the elements in his chairs have subtle curves that bring visual and ergonomically comfort as adverse to sharp edges. Curves are not easy.

That spoken I'm still in love with the orthogonal rectilinear. Still looking for a car that exemplifies this properly... the closest we get are the Hummer, Range / Land Rover, Suzuki Every, Honda Crossroad
