See it walk H E R E (http://www.strandbeest.com/animaris%20rhinoceros%20transport_en.html)
The Animaris Rhinoceros Transport is a type of animal with a steel skeleton and a polyester skin. It looks as if there is a thick layer of sand coating the animal. It weighes 2. tons, but can be set into motion by one person. It stands 4.70 meters tall. Because of its height it catches enough wind to start moving.
I've seen his animals work. Absolutely unbelievable that they are wind powered or can be pulled by a child.

WOW! Where did you see it?
Wow, it looks so cool. The way it moves seems so natural

What's the cure for a dropped jaw condition??
You don't know how glad I am that I found this site
There's a nice interview with Theo Jansen at ARTIFICIAL (http://www.artificial.dk/articles/theojansen.htm)
Theo says:
I also had periods when I was addicted to the computer. Therefore, I recognize what many people have in the computer world. They jump in at morning and jump out at night. It was also fun for me in a period but after a while I thought: is this my life? When the weather was beautiful I thought it was a waste of time to sit in front of the computer.
I have to agree with him. I think this is the point where I'm at–too much screen time.
A lot of videos on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=strandbeest&search=Search) with different strandbeest versions.
This one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo5mH9yx3So) is really cool. Imagine driving around with this thing on your roof.

Theo Jansen - note : the below is NOT a rendering!

This vid is not by Theo Jansen, but it explains the walking mechanism in one of his machines in some simple 2D and 3D animations.
It takes away part of the magic, but is very inspiring as another lesson on how simple mechanisms can yield amazing results..
