That's great !!!!!!!! Some look really hardcore expensive.
cheers
The ultimate Roof garden has to be Le Corbusier's, Beistegui with its grass carpet, fire place and movable hedges!
I can imagine the price of that BBQ set in the first post...
Some of those do look amazing, if I had one of those Id be fine with living in NY!

Don't be jealous guys haha
I once partied on a rooftop terrace in Boston and let me tell you, it was champagne taste all the way.
Don't have any rooftop connections in NYC though. :(

Never get timber table outdoor settings though, unless you plan to actually maintain it- otherwise they look more like the left balcony than the right balcony! ;)

Funny how one can be excited about such a small space with just some seating and very ugly rooflandscape all around...
I got a big roof terrace that looks nicer...just that it is situated in 1210 Vienna...did probably cost a fraction of the smallest NYC rooftoprealestate but the air is also cleaner ;)
Have you guys seen the red dot award winners balkony window?

Interesting concept, heavyweather. When it's open though, how do you keep the flies out? :wondering
It's been done before - on paper at least

I'm imagining with the Bloomframe its not a simple install as it would probably require some serious reinforcement regarding the framing required on whatever wall you place it in. Although a cool idea, I believe if you have the option to get a normal balcony it would be the better option as you would have to store whatever chairs you use on the Bloomframe indoors because as palphd says, how do you keep the bugs out, you obviously can't keep the thing open for extended periods of time (without paying the consequence). I just don't believe it truly saves you much space, it seems more of a "look what I bought" kind of product rather than a practical one (i wonder what the costs would be when mechanically it begins to fail).

Well...they say it can be installed everywhere where a window can be installed...but you should consult a static engeneer anyways...
It would also need building permission at least where I live (Austria, Vienna).
We could enhance it and install foldable furniture in the floor.
The floor would still be dirty...otoh if you walk barefoot in your flat this small balkony (your temporary wall) should not get too dirty :D
They have some luxury nice ones on Roosevelt Island where they are still developing.
