View Full Version : Vray 3ds Max Background Question
hey
i have a quick question
Im trying to do this render of an aparment (part of my job at the officice) and all the light i have its a vray light at a window where am trying to place a jpeg of the sight.
the proble its that i doesnt look real like over exposed
one of the pics attached its with the light and it looks as if it where an atomic explosion on the outside. the other one its my best shoot with the vray-light made invisible but the pic looks like and ugly photoshop work.
righ now im trying to photoshop it but im not really that good
any sugestions???
I think you need to turn the options Affect Specular and Affect reflections off (under vray light properties) and invisible ON
Fernando
it has the 3 things "on" on the examples:confused:
-make a plane and apply the texture there
-use a standard material with the the same map that ypu are using on the diffuse map under the self illuminated slot
-select the plane and under vray properties turn this options off
*Generate GI
*Receive GI
*Visible to GI
-Select the plane again and under Object properties
*Receive and Cast Shadows OFF
-place the vraylight in between the glass and the plane with the background
and do what I said in my previous post.
keep that intensity of the light, the shininess looks realy great,,,i would make the background soft trying not to lose this intensity of light..:)

dude thanks but i got stock at the time at turning the GI options off i cant find where they are, neither the cast and receive shaws option.
can you be a bit more explicit please
select the object>right click then pop-up a window with several options...low right quad you'll find vray properties as wells as object properties.
for interiors is also better if you take the glass out of the GI calculation.
If background intencity is too low for you, you can use vraylight material adjusting the multiplier as you want....the reason why you take the plane out of the GI calculation is because the material is self-illiuminated, it's going to be light source and you don't want that....and the reason why you want to exclude it from casting shadows is because if you have a direct light (sun) ...the plane would block the direct light.
