[shameless self promotion=on]

Young Architects Exhibition organized by the Australian Architecture Association (a renegade group started by Glenn Murcutt, Harry Seidler, Rick LePlastrier and the like) is going to be at Sydney Customs House.

Our practice, 4site, has been chosen as one of the many going to be exhibited. The cover image of this poster is actually one of our projects in Sydney with nancyboy (http://www.pushpullbar.com/forums/member.php?u=12) as the project leader.

[shamless self promotion=off]

Further more, nancyboy (aka. Peter) is going to be a father today!!!!
Double congrats from me.

Congratulations Kevin, to you and to your team @4-site !!! It's good to have some self promotion once in a while. Btw, we had it too last february when we took part in a similar exhibition called "[RE]nouveaux plaisirs d'architecture" co-organised by the CIVA (http://www.civa.be) (centre international pour la ville et l'architecture) and architecture school LA CAMBRE (http://www.lacambre-archi.be/). I hope this exhibition will be the occasion to show new potential clients the quality of your work! Again, congrats to you and... nancyboy for being a nancyfather today!

Btw, Kevin, can you show us more about the exhibit and the featured project?
Here's what we did for us... presenting our work on a wall newspaper, trying to speak about architecture in a closer way to people. Not quite sure we succeded in that but hey, the intention was there... :D We wanted to stay away from the typical glossy and trendy looking pictures. Here's the inspirationnal picture...

...and here's what we did... believe me, we even talked about PPB as a new communication media where different cultures and approaches could meet. :D
Sorry for the bad picture... lighting was crap...

I like the promotional work guys it reminded me of the second hand book stalls in Bucharest which i liked, lockable by night and alcove forming by day.

Great work both of you!

Kevin - great to see they used your project on the poster!

Michel - I love the idea of presenting your work in a newspaper format! How did you go about printing up the copies? Did you run news print paper through the inkjet plotter?

Greg, thx. Actually, real news print paper was impossible to find unless we'd printed our newspaper as a real one. Recycled paper was then pretty convincing and much cheaper to print on A3+ deskjet printer...

You're right! The best moment IN MY LIFE was when I got my LITTLE PROJECT on my arms for the first time!

BTW: a funny anecdote by me:
When the school psychologist asked me "how was the delivery" I started describing the moment, as every detail came back to me tears appeared on my eyes etc, etc...
After 10 minutes she said: "That's all very interesting sir, but I have just two squares to check in this file, NATURAL DELIVERY or CESAREAN DELIVERY ?" !!!!!!!!! :o

Giddy-up Swank-e and Nancyboy! Nice work at your firm! Congratulations on the recognition!

No good deed goes unpunished, Nancyboy:

Beautiful architectural project...and then you get the most difficult, torturous, frustrating, pain-in-the-ass, pull-your-hair-out, enriching, loving, adoring, inspiring, gratifying reward on the planet...a child.

Congrats on both great accomplishments!
