Not that I was looking for a replacement of pushpullbar or something like that, but looking around (after I found ppb2 is running) i noticed that Death by Architecture (http://www.deathbyarch.com) has it's forum (http://www.deathbyarch.com/forum/) running again.
Anyways it's not even half as good as PPB2 being that this forum is not completely open and has more threads and members than DBY.
Bright the future of ppb2, is.

Doh! (slaps forehead) I did a search, honest I did.
oh, no biggie, it was an old post...#84, but it was more like one of the first posts (after all the background info and forum details were added after the hack in August of '05).
Yes its getting closer to 2 years since the hack. I can remember the day like it was yesterday...it was like black tuesday on Wall Street...
