I apologize for the blurry pictures. I'm definetely a lousy photographer. These pictures don't do justice to this incredible small gallery. The lighting is fantastic.

They were actually closed the day I went there since they were setting up the new exhibition but I was able to convince the very friendly manager to let me in and take a look at the space.

After he let me in, he went upstairs where the offices are located and I found myself alone is this empty concrete box. It was very surreal and I felt like I was in a temple, church, etc.

I highly recommend visiting the gallery. It's a great little jewel in the middle of a strange neighborhood.

How are the works hung on those walls? Usually galleries go for the temporary nature of plaster as it can be returned back to the original state quickly, or they use a rail-and-hook type system.

It's a fantastic space. I wonder, however, how easy it is for an artist to work in it. It's rather a dominant space.

Good question... I suppose they somehow use the holes from the formwork ties for that?...

I think they do. You may be able to see in the pictures that the work tend to be hung at two main heights (lower shelves and upper frames) which more or less align with the holes. Quite honestly, I didn't peak behind the artwork to see how they were hung. I actually got to talk to one of the artists who was hanging his work but it never cross my mind to ask him how the space and the installation process affected the way his work was being presented. Duh! I guess next time I go visit my parents in Sao Paulo I will have to make another visit to the gallery. :wondering
