I got a very strange problem. I have exported a SU model into 3D Max, to render with Vray. But at some place, there always shows some kind of blur in the rendering, and it is not the screen but the model, because when I move the camera, the blur appears on the same spot of the model, and not on the same spot of the screen.

Can someone help me URGENTLY? It is a 1 week assignment, and has to be turned in Thursday morning...

This is the Vray render :

Funny thing is : a CLEAN 3D Max document, rendered with NO SETTINGS CHANGED, gives the same.

So, I'll be posting the SU model, since I think that there is where the error lies? I hope someone can help me, cause this really p!sses me off right now... :bang head

weird...

Is it something you can click on in max?
Is it some renagade face hidden in sketchup?

you have things on separate layers I assume. Obviously your can turn off each layer one by one until the object disappears so you can track it down to see which layer its on so you can delete it.

I just looked at the skup and didnt see anything wrong ill take a closer look see.

It's weird indeed. No hidden plains, I am sure, cause it's a clean SU file. But it does only show up when a combination of certain plains is visible. *sigh*...

And it can't be a max error with the render settings, cause standard gives the same error.

Dammit, same thing on other pc. And re-exporting the SU model won't do any good either.
And I just found out that other views give other blurry planes on either nonsensical places.

If you're on a deadline, my advice would be to not obsess over the glitch. Render it, and photoshop it out, then move on to the rest of your project. It's irritating as hell I know, but sometimes there's just nothing you can do. :(

Yup I know. I have rendered what I needed nontheless and am now working on the presentation panels. SO at least I'll have something. If time, I can try to PS it out...

I tried it in a couple of my softwares and nothing shows up. It looks like your VegetationBlur2.jpg texture.

Try selecting your model, copy and paste into a new SketchUp window.

The area you mention looks like vray hadn't finished rendering. What version of vray and what type of GI ?
