hi everyone
my first post here.....Never knew that such an informative site exists on the net...anyway i will straightway fire my query...
i need some advices regarding my ARCHITECTURE profession....
i am very fond of buildings like tadao ando works, or other architects who play with light and spaces and small details (minimalistic details)...and also exposed concrete fascinates me a lot....
I don't have any library resource ...thats why i need some internet help with this....From where i can read more about this stuff.....
Or maybe some book references which i can buy if they are worth it.
Thanks
welcome to the forum.
if you have done a search, or search in the Architects+Designers reference section, you would have found this already

His Complete Works has such fantasic visual documents on every building (almost) he designed. Since you don't have library resource, I would suggest you to go to local bookstore and spend a whole day absorbing through the pages.

Welcome to forum.
Feel free to post them -
When you do please start a new thread for each project.

I would be very careful about posting scanned images from a book... there are some copyright infringement issues you maybe dealing with... Just a heads up...
We have run across this issue at our firm with images we had done of our own work. We would pass along images to contractors or whoever and the photographer was very upset about it. He had rights to it and it became an issue... so beware...
same goes for anything that is a published work... but if I am wrong in this instince please let me know, because it would be useful to know :)

I wonder how that works with most of the images and text posted in this site :wondering

Well there is a difference when you reference text from a publication (you should be showing the source of that material & as long as you aren't representing that text as your own... plagiarism...) But it is a stickier situation when talking about images... usually nothing is done but there is always a risk of using material you don't have the proper rights to to have the owner of that material to go after you (either in a legal sense or in a monetary way)... now of course these rules differ from country to country.
I know for a fact that if you went to a copier place (in the US) and started making copies of a book and they caught you doing that they will ask you to stop and leave. I've seen it happen. Even in my University's library there were some rules on how much and what kind of work you could make copies of.
anyhow, I was just addressing the point. I think for the most part when people post stuff up on this site it is either their own photos they took, or their own work, or something from the web but they usually reference back to the webpage they got the material from... yes? :wondering that has been my perception of that anyhow...
it is a grey area for sure :)
