Probably the most celebrated building from Le Corb, heres some more of it! And its indeed very beautiful. This is the bus station which stops right outside Villa Savoye...though we didn't take it since it was a sunday, so no bus, and a 20min walk is always good for the body

interior look at the famous ramp, complete with contemporary artwork which makes me feel like i'm in the set for "War of the Worlds"

a very interesting corner where 3 doors seem to be attached to the same place and acts as different partitions depending which door you close.

the roof, with me strolling into the pic. Villa Savoye was exhibiting a few furniture/spatial designs related to the building...one such is a canopy workspace right behind moi

a nice touch i really like in the building. a standard cut-away window that actually framed the exterior landscape into a painting

a larger view, you can see the real roof deck, plus the canopy addition i was talking about earlier inside

I also agree that this could and should not be the first post of this building. It`s one of the most famous buildings of architecture and one of the greatest.

Great pictures, Lumox. I will go there in September soon and post pictures. But I hope till then there are here more (other) pictures too.

I just registered so I could fulfill your wishes!
When did you go to Paris Lumox? I went in February for a 2.5 week trip with my studio group. These are 12 pictures I chose from I think 70-80 pictures I took at Villa Savoye...enjoy! (sorry to anyone on slow internet)

The facade you see upon approaching, although I think it was originally the back.

I don't know who this person is.
Is it considered creepy in France to take pictures of people in the bathroom?

here you can see how the whole circulation system works, The ramp inside is a repeat of the one outside, just below it.

Welcome Random... i was in Paris as a summer trip with a few of my classmates. Seems like you had a bright winter sun there, cos when i was there the sky poured its heart out. And i never noticed that chair around...though i did sit on one which looks similar and rocks around(i'm sure its not meant to rock around... i'm just too heavy i guess

More pics coming...next time should be La Defense area, with the new Grand Arche

Its hard for me to believe that this is the first post of the Villa Savoye...

Yep. Sometimes it's easy to take the obvious for granted....

I haven't seen photos of this building that have brought it to life like this. I have a whole new appreciation for this building now.

Thanks.
