I have just posted my new fine arts site and wanted to get some feedback opn the platform. the address is www..com

I am a professional advertising fashion and architectural photographer, but this site is more geared to my personal work. I hope you like it.

I would welcome your comment.

Compelling pics. I like alot of the subject matter and how you presented it. The mouse over/previews are a helpful touch. The only knock...lots of load time. But maybe that's expected in a photo intense page. Good Luck.

alexatstorm- very nice site. The sound reflects the feeling of the photos very good and gives a nice image.

The design- black and white letters is an "alltime" classic design and also good set by you.:)
The loading time for a flash made/flash based site is a thing that will change with more "broadband", more faster speed of internet, in a few years. flash seems to be sometimes a few years "before the internet".
I have the same problem with my site. Long startig up. But the main thing in flash is that it is for creatives, artists, architects (...)a more nice, more "styish", more design thing.Flash means: getting more immersed. That`sgood for transporting nice things and an image.

The music change- being electronical is also good.I like it.:)

Great. Very great.
2 questions:
(1)which camera do you use?

(2)Do you made the flashdesign on your own too?
- I know how long a flash-site can last to be finished...

...and: a good feeling is transported in your pictures.powerful.

The pictures are amazing and I like the graphic arrangement of the website very much too. The only negative side IMO is the load time, as Ryarch said. I don't know why but I couldn't hear the music...

Do you mean spelled? It seems a little ironic to post about spelling errors when there are errors in your own post.

About the site. This site says, "here is the work". I think thats the way it should be. I think the work and the site are both very nice.

from Apple Dictionary:
spelt: chiefly Brit. past and past participle of spell.

Very nice site. I really like the photography, mainly the ones with more contrast. Although I like everything the way you have it now, you might look at switching the "working water 0011" out with one that is more punchy. You could switch it out with one like the combine photo or one of the Tokyo ones.

huh?!
spelt is correct English. Only Americans (i.e. fools) uses "spelled". :poke fun:

Anyway I thought Halsey was doing good giving good feedback. useful.

In terms of feedback I think maybe the site isn't loading properly in Safari (mac) as I only see the images (6 in total) and no previews or anything fancy. Images are good but I find the text over the image surprising from a photographer.-

*EDIT*
sorry no it was the load times the music and more pictures came up... ditto what others said

i did a little research and found this

According to Dictionary.com ’spelt’ is, in fact, an acceptable past tense conjugation of the verb ‘to spell’ meaning ‘To constitute the letters of a word.’ However, “spelled” sounds like the better choice.

Upon further investigation I discovered the reason for my confusion. ‘Spelt’ is actually the British past tense of ‘to spell’ while ’spelled’ is the American past tense.

http://www.usingenglish.com/reference/irregular-verbs/spell.html

so technically we are both correct i guess

sorry for the confusion

-ps-I am an american but great grandma was british and mostly all ancestors were english- so i guess it was just the way i was brought up / in my genes, lol

Congratulations on your new site, and welcome to pushpullbar, alexatstorm.
I focus on only technical aspects -
1. I saw the site with my notebook first, and missed completely what's going on at the bottom of the site (i.e., thumbnails, slideshow on/off, sound on/off). my notebook's screen is 1280*800 pixels.
2. There should be an indicator for loading data? (maybe there is one? I missed it?)

in the fine arts prints page inquiry is spelt wrong- in the page its spelt enquiry
"Inquiry" can be spelled (spelt) as "enquiry" too.

I agree with everyone about this being a great site with great photographs. As far as the load times...I actually embrace it. It prevents me from just fast clicking my way through. It forces me to slow down and appreciate his art. Good job!!

Load time not too bad for me.

Very simple and elegant layout.:)

Really like the music. Who is it?

Only one picture under each heading, space immobile, human, etc? Seems a bit limited...
You are like me, Wilson; missing thumbnails at the bottom.
I thought this was a test-run. ;)

I find the navigation a bit troubling. I clicked on text and believed nothing was there when you clicked on them..then I clicked on the one below and it took long enough for me to believe there was nothing there. I went back thru to realize there were actual images when you clicked on the words.

I also don't totally love there is absolutely nothing to see when you aren't clicking on the images. I think you will lose a few people to the navigation of the site. If they came up faster I think it would be more successful. I have a great internet connection and a very powerful pc but when you scan thru images nothing shows. From having my own site and using google analytics you will learn people get bored very fast, and if they can't see something fast they give up even faster.
