View Full Version : [Barcelona] Parc Guell - Antonio Gaudi
There are, some pictures I have of Guell´s Park, in Barcelona, one of most singular works of Antoni Gaudí.
Sorry about I`m not able to add aditional information on how to go there, but hope some Barceloner mate can contribute so.
This is the house of the watchman, in the park entrance.
All pictures shooted with a canon conventional APS sistem camera, with 300 mm zoom lens, and later scanned.
These are the columns that support the central square
A general View of the entrance and the town, in a winter day
Another view of watchman´s house
The famous frog in the main stair.
Another view of Gaudi´s brilliant work
The tree trunk in the background looks like a prayer
Stone planters in perspective
Barcelona´s hanging gardens
Gaudi masterized the structural analisis by the funicular poligon method. With that he could make the calculations of this kind of structures
Guell´s villa.
The park originally was going to be a residential landing that failed. The first house built was the proprietor´s one. The other, was the one that occupied the own Gaudí
Another view of the ownwer´s home
Finally, the bench known as the longest in the world, and the broken tile covering.
A texture I made in Gaudi´s tribute.
Sorry if tilling is not optimus. :)
From Plaça Catalunya wich is a quite central location for tourists you have to take the line 3 (green) metro in Zona Universitaria headed to Canyelles and get off in Vallarca station five stops later. From there you have to walk down along avinguda de l'hospital, then take left to baixada de la gloria (wich is a steep and long stair) wich will end right next to the parc, but not in the entrance, so you'll have to border it along coll del portell and josep de la muntanya.
It seems that it's changed since I went there, so I don't know exactly if you enter through the main entrance now. When I wen there the entry was not where the buildings are but on a small place so you could go through all the place.
In the website it says that it's open from 10 am until dawn
I have a few pics too. I don't know what happened to me in that trip, but I had my camera hanging around my neck and I always forgot to take pics. Not to mention I didn't have a clue on how to do it well.
Thank you Cacapis, for completing the information. Your photos are very good also.
thanks cacapis for posting the travel information (in order for this thread to stay in the travel forum)
