anything worth seeing in Murcia, Spain. i'm familiar with Murcia Town Hall by rafael moneo but is there anything else with architectural merit in the region? valencia is nearby but i'm not such a big fan of calatrava.

feedback appreciated

Apart from the Rafael Moneo Town Hall Extension as you have mentioned, another recent project that looks interesting is the Murcia Congress Centre by Paredes Pedrosa Arquitectos.

According to AR+D 2002 Awards (Highly Commended):
The congress centre at Murcia in south-east Spain by Paredes Pedrosa Arquitectos is a generous contribution to urban life. It adds to an existing complex on the edge of the city and offers variable spaces for banquets, exhibitions and conferences. It responds to local climate (and indeed tradition) with ingenious use of courtyards that bring carefully controlled sun and daylight to the middle of the very deep plan. The jury was impressed by the simplicity and flexibility of the centre, and by its modest civic dignity.

Some interesting links:

There seems to be a new construction in Roman Ruins:

I do not know the status of this project by EBV Arquitectos:

I just read an article about this new museum in Murcia - The Arab Wall Museum, by the architects Amann, Canovas y Maruri, located in Plaza de Santa Eulalia. From the pictures it seems definitely worth a visit.

That's the Interpretation Center for the archaeological remains of the Punic wall in Cartagena, not far from Murcia.
If you decide to go there:
I'm not sure if the new Cartagena's Museo Nacional de Arqueología Marítima, by Guillermo Vasquez Consuegra is already built or not. The project seemed interesting - LINK (http://www.vazquezconsuegra.com/Cartagena.html)
In Cartagena there's an office building and elevator tower in Calle Gisbert, also by Amann, Canovas y Maruri. Here's a picture:

Any feedback? I am considering whether to visit Murcia myself. Any more info about the INTERPRETATION CENTER OF THE PUNIC WALL?
