EL ROBLE CHAPEL

A small family chapel for 40 people next o a woods of Australian "Aromos".

The idea is to motivate religious reflexion by blending into the surrounding nature.

The building rests against the slop with a curved stone wall that also guides your entrance by the side of the central nave, under a 10x10m roof.
This central nave opens by one of its side to the woods, on the other opens to a double height box 9x3x4.5m which is the altar, a small chorus to the side, and below this the sacristy.

The exit is through three pivoting doors who open to an expanse slope that dominates the views.
behind the altar you enter a small meditation patio from which you may enter the chorus or make a walk through the woods.

Its south of Santiago in the "8th region". (Chile is divided in regions).

Easy to be unaware about the work being done outside of the usual hotspots. ie. those areas usually covered by 'the architectural' mgazines.
