Looking for M. Arch students from UCLA

Hey,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how they like the program or how they feel the program may be lacking. I should save this for an open house but not sure if I can make it down.

Any input would be great.

you thinking about going there? I'm assuming this since you can't make an open house...but, I'd rethink that idea anyway. If you aren't willing to make the open house, is it really an option?

There are publications ranking the various schools of architecture, btw. Perhaps there is more detailed info. From what I've heard, it isn't too bad of a campus...don't know the percentages of where the students get jobs, though.

thank you tr. I've seen those design school rankings and it isn't as valuable to me as personal perspectives. I don't think surveys like those have any real value when you want something specific from an architecture education, while the questions(from the survey) are very broad and cover issues more in relation to employability and school rep.

The only reason I'm not considering the open house is a lack of money for the trip down and the fact that it is my "reach" school. I read in their catalog last year that your college gpa should be a 3.5., mine is nowhere near a 3.5, but I hear porfolio matters most so I am trying anyway.

best,
rm

always shoot for the starts, my friend. you never know unless you try. I realize that the rankings are PC, but I didn't know if there is any alternative media (blogs, mags, webrings, etc.) that can give you more info.

Maybe a place to look is UCLA's website. It sounds foolish, but my alum, Nebraska, has a specific portion of the website geared towards trying to hint at some of the intangibles that you are after. UNL-arch

I'll definitely try no matter what. Their website isn't updated regularly. I hope that changes...sadly there aren't any links to student e-mails...but some student work looks interesting.
