[REQUEST] Arizona

Hi everyone,

I´m going to visit my sister in Tucson, AZ for Christmas. So I´ll try to plan a small architecture trip there.

Maybe the cities I´ll be near, or probably visit are, Tucson, Pheonix, Scottsdale...

The thing is, I´m a little lost there. I wish you can tell me interesting buildings to visit.

I know there are some buildings of Will Bruder, like the Pheonix library, and near Scottsdale the is the Taliesin West of FLLW.

Actually in the begining I wanted to visit the Taliesin West.... But I´m not really shure now.

so, i hope anyone can help me.

I´ll be there for couple a weeks.

Thanks

Ever heard of a place called "arcosanti"?

It’s a sustainable / utopian community in Arizona by an architect called Paolo Soleri, I see they have a website.. Its been going for 30 odd years, all built by volunteers.

http://www.arcosanti.org

Also see Flikr, they have lots of pics...

Its a bit - "Star wars", John Lautner, Louis Kahn, FLR's futuristic drawings, set to the music of "Hair".....

If your up for a quick drive, and if this is anywhere near Tucson I would try The Church of the Holy Cross in Sodona... It looks as though it is about the same distance from Phoenix from Tucson but North of Phoenix...
