1.5 Giga Pixel photograph !!!

The same photographer who did a 720 megapixel photo of Sydney earlier this year has now done a 1500 megapixel photo of Machu Picchu. The level of details is amazing - you can zoom in so far you can see the expressions on peoples faces!

and the website.........

Interesting software, Autopano Pro

Automaticaly selects pictures from a folder, no need to sort the pictures yourself!

In PC and MAC versions too

thanks for the link nandish... incredible... how the heck is he taking 400+ photos and getting the people to be so clear? I am really wondering about the process of all this... I am taking it this is a super HDR type of compositing process with a panoramic element thrown in? anyone have a clue how this is being done?

also moving this to Architectural photography...

And I found a mistake, I think, see below:

Haha gorgon nice find. That fellow must have moved when the next picture was taken.

Thanks wizum. I first thought of putting it in Architectural photography, But then i realised nothing architectural to show or talk about.

Amazing work by Scott howard.

Well, how about a 8.6 GPixel image?

http://haltadefinizione.deagostini.it/

Here you'll find a detailed reproduction of a fresco cycle by Ferrari.
I guess they use Ferrari servers as well, the zooming speed is impressive!

I guess it depends on the netwrok speed one has. For me it took the same time as the 1.5 GPixel image.
Thanks for the link. Some amazing detailing.
