Another house, another model... let me present you the work of WESPI & DE MEURON (http://www.wespidemeuron.ch/), swiss firm based in Zurich and Caviano, Switzerland. I stumbled on their work after seeing some on the net and in detail magazine, then on their own website... One house kept my attention... House in Brione, Ticino - Switzerland... which is pretty close to where I grew up as a child. Magnificent region, close to the "lago maggiore". The site is pretty sloped, and I found interessting the way the architects developped their project... no text info on the website, so I'll let you judge by yourself from pictures, plans and model. Hope you like it. :D The model isn't perfect (started from scratch from the pics and plans below) so I intentionnally left unmodelled the areas I wasn't sure about. All real pictures from the architects website.

Hey Mich, there is text on neubau ferienhaus ku. in brione in the site (http://www.wespidemeuron.ch/wdm/projekte.php?id=31), although it is in German. Can you traslate it?

new building of a holiday house into brione s.m. ti the new building is in a closely cultivated mansion accomodation over locarno, with view on city, lake and saves. the draft reacts with restraint to an everyday topic: build in the chaos concerning town construction. therefore without the use of attributes of a classical house one does: only two simply cut, mutually shifted stone kuben work themselves out from the mountain - fragmentarily - more the landscape, as the accomodation associated - more wall than house - itself a temporal allocation refusing. habitable interiors result from the principle of scooping out. two homogeneous large openings lockable with a wood gate, offer occur and view to the inhabitant. additional light penetrates over inner courts. the water of the pool let in in the valley-lateral kubus connects itself with the lake.

new summer residence building in brione s.m. ti

the new building is situated in a dense residential villa area above locarno, with a view of the city, lake and mountains. the design reacts modestly to a common theme: building in urban chaos.
the use of classic house vocabulary is therefore abandoned. two simply cut stone cubes work their way out of the mountain - fragmentarily - more part of the landscape than of the quarter - more wall than house - denying a chronological classification.

the inhabitable interiors develop through the principles of excavation. two similar large openings offer the inhabitant entry and views, lockable by a wooden gate. additional light enters through atriums.
the water of the cube oriented toward the valley connects to the lake.

Great house, but also same great model. Thanks.
I also like your always same "identity layout"

The pool to the door is good. Very nice use of materials.

Thank you all, glad you like the house and model. I've been struggling with the textures here. Had to create and adapt some in PS to get closer to the reality.
As Swank-E pointed out, this "de meuron" has nothing to do with the "herzog" one. Wespi is "autodidakt" !
Now I'm wondering if someone is willing to give it a try in some render software... :D (good luck with bump maps...)

Found another pic on EUROPACONCORSI (http://213.92.11.162/db/pub/architecture.php?id_scheda=12532&idimg=103951) showing that the house is much closer to the lake than Brione itself.
