Perhaps the most famous contemporary French architect, Jean Nouvel is noted for the extraordinary conceptual imagery of his work, the result of his many interests: theater, cinema, interior, furniture and industrial design. He will participate in panel discussion at the Guggenheim Museum (New York)
Nouvel is strongly committed to modern technology. His internationally-renowned projects include the Institut du Monde Arabe (Paris), the remarkable Cartier Institute (Paris), the Lyon Opera House (Lyon), Nemausus housing (Nîmes), the Tours Conference Center, the Hotel Dax, and the Commercial Center at Euralille.

Sorry for bringing this old topic up again. But I have a question regarding pictures.
Does anyone have good and clear interior pictures of the Opera house in Lyon? Ones in which you can see the interior volume?
Internet doesn't show much result, and also the books in the local library are not very satisfying...

...among others...
Nope. Seen them, not satisfied. It's more like I want some shots from the inside takes from the room seen in front in this visualization (http://www.aria.archi.fr/Opera/maquette/salle.jpg)... The ones I find don't show much to my idea...
This is the Guthrier Theather in Minnesota.

Philharmonie de Paris
A new €200 million orchestra hall to be constructed in the capital's largest green, Parc de la Villette in northeastern Paris. When completed in 2012 will provide a state of the art 2,400-seat venue.
Apparently the concept is to suspend balconies, attached to the building by access passages — in a way that allows sound waves to circulate around and behind them. The idea is that the audience will be in the middle of the music”
I wonder how useable those ramps and the roofscape are?
and i dont say this often, but look at the size of that cantilever!!

That sounds like quite a deal of hard work for the acoustic engineer. But I expect it to be quite a sound experience if they get it right.
