View Full Version : Vue 6
Seems like a good deal. Buy vue 5 and get a free upgrade to version 6. Looking at the images produced. Looks better then ver 5 and much better radiosity engine and material handeling. :)
Nice realistic materials...
looks sweet - didnt know vue was capable of such awesome renders :)

It's a great program, but not for you guys ...unless you are really very creative.
Viva Vue6
This was done with Vue5
it's a great program, but you guys don't really know whats best do you ?
Well I'll tell you, Maxwellrender, cheetah3D and Vue5/6 for landscape reality.
Prove me wrong and show me.

Oh and I saw the latest Maxwell guru post a render of a swiming pool
How long did it take to render ? Two mins. 3 mims ? who Knows
I posted a render that took 2.5mims with Cheetah3D and I think looks as good as the MR version which is a prorgram I like
Time taken to develop / copy 25 mins
Mac people look at Cheetah3D and learn...

Zod... the barcelona chair and the zidane soccer trophy were done in Cheetah3D by Luke Bocchinelli... not with Vue 5 or 6...!!
If you are on a mac Cheeta seems unlikely to be beaten for value!!!
Please give us a PC version!

Some people do wonders with good old fashioned crayons and brushes without any technology involved....
just to say how relative your statement above is.
(besides that i like maxwell to ;) )

Oh... thats pretty unfair for e-on software to come up with such a program.

my sentiments... :D
I highly recommend Vue 5 Easel/Esprit/etc. for architectural work simply because it is so easy to export a structure from Sketchup as OBJ, import into Vue 5 (I use Easel), then drag and drop pre-built trees, atmospheres and other Vue 5 objects around it. Check out these new home renderings (http://www.up3d.com/new-home-renderings.html) (I've found a slick workaround for replacing the very ugly windows with reflective windows, and will re-render these examples as soon as I can).
I have no doube about how great Vue 5/6 or other rendering program could be. But I would rather keep working on the software that I have in hand and try to reach a better balance point between the rendering time and quality. I've seen guys around still using 3d Max 3.0, some of them just use the default scanline renderer but set more than 10 lights for each scene they created. And the works they made are just gorgeous, like it's done by Vray.
IMHO, it's not the software but the people who determine the quality of rendering.

Vue sucks for interior - could you show us a decent Vue interior with strip/ neon lighting? The one that you showed us only had daylight.
Manipulating materials in Vue is also very difficult.
I extracted the images form it's website. Vue 6 is not out yet, the current version is 5 and there will be a free upgrade to version 6 when it comes out if you purchase now.
Perhaps someone with more experience in using Vue can advise on this matter? I've seen a couple of renders done superbly.
i'm downloaded it to use vue 5 easel with SU, but i don't have no time to try it now (i'm doing my final work in university and in some days i'll be an architect )
Ok with the OBJ export-import (no components lost), but don't like the renders done just with the "presets". I've made a pooooooooor expample: but the shadows... :puke:
