View Full Version : Max7 Materials
Question all,
I have exported to 3ds and imported it into my max 7. I noe have 7000 windows with glass that are all seperate. how can I map materials to all at once. instead of one at a time.
thanks
Terry
not knowing more about your issue, if you had a material assigned in SU and kept the materials through exporting, you need to simply load the material into the material browser in MAX and adjust the original material's properties.
I only used a color for certian things, silly me. material/JPG for all of the most.

Before exporting 3ds file i usually 'bomb' the model and use ruby 'group by textures'. When you open the file in MAX you only have to apply the correspondent material from each group.
I almost forgot about that little hiccup. if you have your materials scaled so perfectly, you don't have to bomb and group by texture, but the group by texture is fairly quick and painless to make life easier.
thanks for the reminder, Moita!

Yes indeed trogers...
The way i tols is because i never use sketchup textures, i always make new ones in MAX and map all the objects... In sketchup i only use colors to identify different textures... Makes the model easier to handle.
