Thanks Richard, and that's a problem i am well aware of. But i have taken the attitude of 'competition' so it was more about the idea and the presentation of the product. Besides, it was about a couple of hours of design and then it was all building the model and getting it rendered. (attached is an early sketch, which looked pretty much exactly like the submission, except I have tilted the canopy entry to dramatize coming out from below ground.

The exhibition opening is this coming tuesday 20th June, 2006, 6-7pm at the North Point Atrium, 100 Miller Street, North Sydney. I have booked my tickets already, and I think dkidston will be there as he works with the winner (Marcus of gravestmor.com (http://www.gravestmor.com)). Any Sydney [pushpullbar]2 members want to meet me, I will be there, plane tickets booked already!

Hi Kevin,
Congratulations!
Great to see some of your work again.

The bus shelter reminds me of a design you made some time ago for an oriental restaurant. The 'wrapping' form has similarities with the "suchi" concept you made back then.

I think the restaurant was posted on PPB1.
It was a great concept....I do like to see a pic of it again, since the unwrapped suchi rolls were a great play.

Regarding this competition: Both the shelter and canopy are well designed.
Only remark i have is that it looks as if it wasn't made by one and the same architect.(style differs)

Very effective presentation skills. It seems you have a good workflow on entering competitions.
Could you share with us which DTP software you use for making the layout of the panels? The integration of graphics and text is remarkably pure (post #3).

Keep up the good work.:not worth

Thanks kwistenbiebel... I only discovered your question just now.

Layouts were done using photoshop only.

I guess your comment about 'different hands' is because one part was rendered using artlantis and the other panel was pure sketchup :wondering ?

I don't know if its too late to comment?
I really like the presentation and layout which is excellent - have added to the presenation thread (http://www.pushpullbar.com/forums/showthread.php?p=79863#post79863)...

I think the bus stop design is more successsful than the enterance canopy but would have like to see the waiting line idea developed a bit more - the roof could have come down and continued as the line of the "waiting line" and been a really strong part of the idea: it could then have been rolled out to lots of bus stops all connected by "the line"
I guess the openness of the design is related to the quality of the weather in Australia, might not be so successful in London

Beautiful! I love them both. Although, I find my self agreeing with kwisten - they're very disparate. I'm not entirely sure that it's a result of the different renderers being used, they just honestly don't feel like they're cohesive.

Nonetheless, they're both spectacular in their own right.

I first saw Kevin's submission back in September when he gave a presentation of SU at the RAIA and I was very impressed with it. I must say that I think Kevion's idea is better than the winning scheme as it's nice and simple and I think would work much better..
