Nice view and interesting design must say. Except for those faces. Looks kinda funny. But going alone wont be so boring in this. Get the feeling all of them looking at you.

perhaps the most disappointing project I have visited in my recent trip
this cafe does have a good view, but what you see in the published picture is literally what you get, no depth, no drama, no hidden surprised that is characteristic of Starck's other work I have visited.

as seen from the river.

It is in the Kenzo building, and this is the signage from the street

the whole place seems somewhat dated in terms of design, it's very mid 90's

the graphic print on the bulkhead.

in other Phillipe Starck projects, you would expect something quirky in how this would work, eg the air conditioning outlets would someone play with the graphics... but not here!

the only quirkiness is the carpet with the pebbles print.

and for the technophiles... here's part of the glazed structure detail

and yes, it's expensive place.
this is the cheapest item in the lunch menu... omelette for 9€
nothing spectacular taste wise neither

Omelette Kong: oeuf, jambon, fromage, salade de roquette (as seen in the menu)

SALADE PONT-NEUF: melon, pomme, orange, tomate cerise, avocat (according to menu) for 14€

and the toilet.

have to say this photo makes it look a lot better than in real life.

Verdict.... don't waste your time and money. This is by far the worst Starck I have visited. There is no drama and no playfulness, all hype. Poorly detailed and expensive.

Kevin, your IP is telling me that you are back in Mel... you never said "I'm home" to us!
This is like a showcase of Starck products and nothing more. Most of his recent spatial design are like that.
