hi

im making some proyect were everything has to be prefabricated is a vacation place for a family in somewhere here in mexico (it doesnt have a specific location) but im thinking in puting it in some place near the forest.

The teacher is out of town so i dont have many people to ask.
I have quite afew questions hope you guys can help me out (please) i have to have the floor plans and the elevations in two days

and i dont quite the basics

lso here is what i have..
i was thinking about making the whole house with prefabricated walls, those are fabricated in modules of 2.44x1.44 with diferent densities depends of the use.
For the interior walls i was thinking i may use gypsum panels to divide the spaces and for the exterior i may use these http://www.usg.com/navigate.do?resource=/USG_Marketing_Content/usg.com/web_files/products/prod_details/DUROCK_Brand_Cement_Board.htm
cement board pannels i have a book with quite afew alternatives so the exterior and interiors walls are not an issue.

Where i have problems is with the roof and with the structure (this is where im lost) i thought everything can be built in a surface of concret and with a structure of concrete with columns of .20x.20m the problem is the roof... i cant find alternatives for a roof not made of concrete

any ideas??? am open to do anything you suggest
it is better with some other kind of structure??? my idea is to make the base structure (the floor) some columns and the roof and then just fill the spaces with panels

here is a pic of the model

i forgot...all the spaces are modulated in a 1.44x1.44 scheme

What is the intention of the prefabrication? Short onsite construction?
If so, then think of bigger modules. Why prefabricate walls if you can prefabricate complete rooms (including roof)?

Check these threads to see what i mean.

I think that dimensions are not well balanced in this preliminary scheme. Bed rooms 6,10 m. long ?? Nor in a Palace.

A steel or wood structure has assembly advantages. The wall cladding could be wood.
Have you checked the threads I noted in my last post?

You can prefabricate panels of walls, floor and roof, with wood structure , 2"x 4" and 2"x 6", untill 3.50 m. long, or 300 kgs of weight. These can bring the facilities and the outer coverings. In the site once mounted, you can finish the inner wall covers.
That is the way we do most of beach cabins here.

yes i have do you have higher resolution pics???

its hard to see the details in those.

i like the first one, the one that says "the weekend starts here" i just need some details to really know how to built it.

in a early post you said "Why prefabricate walls if you can prefabricate complete rooms (including roof)?" the thing with those prefabricated spaces is that they are not so popular here in mexico,( i have never hear of anything built here that has one of those) so even if its in the books it would be impossible to get, or more expensive and complicated than building everything on site

i like the last one the flatpack house but the problem that i have its not the design it is that i do not know how they are built and i need to know how to make de plans  things like sections of the walls, section of the roof. what they have inside, how they are joined, and sustainted...things like that

Concretek (http://netdial.caribe.net/~concrtek/casa.htm)

This system by a friend, architect Manuel Martinez provides either modular panels of foam and steel mesh which can be plastered on site, or already plastered walls or rooms. He also sells panels with all the necessary electrical and plumbing so you can just assemble and plaster.

This is a practical prefab system for Mexico where you will find inexpensive and experienced labor to plaster. There are similar systems fabricated in Mexico, I do not remember the brand right now.

Here is a sample house he sells as a kit.

I remembered the Mexican brand, Covintec:

frankly i don't think this qualifies for a hypothetical project thread, unless you provide more design information and we can properly critique this design rather than just asking questions about prefab.

please tell us more about the design so we can critique this properly or i will have to move this to a better location.

thanks

just got out school and i asked a teacher about how to do what i need

basically im using everything from this company http://www.napresa.com.mx/ they have pretty much what i was looking for am using what we call here in mexico "dovelas & vigetas" in a concrete structure

later on the day i'll post more pics and details of the proyect probably i didnt really explained what i had in mind (need more practice with my english :bang head ) and enoght things so you can to criticize it.
