I've noticed some great quality of water recently in your test render Bakbek and also in Swanke's competition entry. I'm guessing this is done in Artlantis can you give me some tips and perhaps a little tutorial. The reflections and waxy finish make a good contrast to a proposal.

The recreation of water in render is generally composed of two parts – The Material settings and the Environment reflected.

In Maxwell I just use the default dialectic material and add a bump map to it (the same one I posted in the bump map library) the Sky reflected in the water surface is also created by Maxwell automatically.

Sometimes I deform the surface itself to have wave patterns… this is more important when the edges of the water surface are visible and interact with other geometry.

SWANK-E will have to comment on his Atlantis technique. others can share also with there respective render.
