Hotel Unique was a cluebox location in the first leg of The Amazing Race 9!
Amazing Race 9 Hotel Report (http://www.hotelchatter.com/city/Jardim%20Paulista,%20Sao%20Paulo)
I'm definitely going to seek out more info on this hotel and the architect.
.
Yes, we saw it 3 weeks ago on TV over here!
Insides looks great, exterior i'm not sure of. I thought that style of architecture died, 10 years ago.

[Forgive my use of the "!": I'm wild for The Amazing Race.]
I'm not trying to be combative, but to what outdated style are your referring? It seems possible that that which is out of favor in South Africa might come into favor in South America at a different moment, especially along different stages of a country's socio-economic development. Also, "the g-word"* architecture--assuming that's what the hotel is--is timeless? I'd love to see some excellent new Art Deco crop up somewhere, for instance.

*good; great

And Im not sure if this would apply, but I guess you supposed to have went to that place and show your personal photos, thats the whole point I think, fo rthe pictures you posted I might as well look into www.arcoweb.com.br or some other site of book.
Dont take me wrong, its nice to see more projects in here, specially those that arent "world wide known", but I think its nicer to see "our own" amateur shots, taken from new angles (other than the same old book and internet sites) and stuff and share the histories behind those images.
My 2 cents...again, dont take me the wrong way, nice post ;)
