After working in the Boston area for a decade, I enjoy every opportunity revisiting projects that were once construction sites just several years ago.
Cambridge is an interesting city for Architecture, rich in history, curious about modernism and home of two leading acedemic institutions, MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and Hardvard University.
One recent project is Simmons Hall by architect Steven Holl for MIT. This building marks a departure for buildings in Cambridge. Namely it's abstract form/scale and use of materials and color.
A description of the Owner/Architect relationship and design process is accounted for here:
simmons.mit.edu/prehistory/sh_prehistory_3architect.html (http://simmons.mit.edu/prehistory/sh_prehistory_3architect.html)
And the Steven Holl website:

These are a few pictures I took on 02/20/06
