Hey guys, I am going to Rio from the 6 to the 12 April. :D :D (YES!!!)

Any suggestions on what to see, events you might know off?? been there 15 years ago so don't remember much...

You should check the Favela Thread (http://www.pushpullbar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1439&highlight=favela) also, Primo.
Rio de Janeiro is full of them.

I would love to, but seems a bit dangerous (specialy with the kids!!)
I mean, if even the police won't venture into them...
Just saw the "Favelas tour" link ?? mmm ? I hate tours...

i highlyh recommend the brazilian movie "city of god" which focuses of the stories and life in the favelas..

watch it b4 you go...\

it's oneof my favourite movies.

Uma "piada"?? (a joke?) ;) I thought so, but realy they are a very interesting part of Rio. I have worked in slums here, but they are much different.

Just came back and got to see most of these! Couldnt make it to the canoas house, maybe next time (thingers crossed!):D
