This is my first project using SketchUp and I am enjoying every minute of the learning curve. I find I am discovering new tricks by the hour. I am a graphic designer by trade, but I have a client who is developing a townhome project in Dallas, TX US and she needed some interior renderings to show how the spaces can adapt to different furniture placements...so I thought I would try it using SketchUp. These are my first presentation drawings for the project.
Project: Elements Townhomes, Dallas, TX USA
Developer: Fairfax Develops (www.fairfaxdevelops.com)
Architect: Russell Buchanan, AIA
Here is another view of the same rooms from Elements.
Where are these being built?
These are being built in Oak Lawn: 3930 Holland, Dallas TX - Just down the street from our home, which was also designed by Russell Buchanan and built by Fairfax Develops. There is a brochure for the project on the website : www.FairfaxDevelops.com Fairfax is becoming known for their quality construction and modernist pieces. The website, brochure, logos, etc. is all what I do as my day job.
Thank you...I am very interested in seeing Dallas grow and prosper.

Excellent presentation model - very professional. Seems you know what you're talking about with SU...well done.
If you want input, I would try to add some 'natural' materials to a wall - say make one wall a feature wall instead of them all being plain white. Of course, you could just be leaving them white so the client can specify...

Not related to your project, but cool things happening in Dallas.
Are there tours of the development?
There are some great things going on here in Dallas....My wife and I moved here specifically because there is a sense of momentum towards a quality arts & design-centric world here. Another link of interest:

As for the Elements project I am working on, it is a 4 unit townhome that is under construcion currently. The developer does give tours to interested parties. In fact, the Dallas Architecture Forum is touring our home this weekend, which is just down the street from Elements, and by the same architect. I beleive the architect is giving guided tours of the Elements project on Saturday as well.
Photo of our home is attached.
Welcome to Dallas. I will try to go check out the project this weekend.
I like your home. Is that in the Oaklawn area? How many units is that?
Our place (called The Envelope) is also in Oak Lawn - 4001 Bowser Avenue. It is a 3-unit townhome. It is called the Envelope because the dimensions for the buildig are idential to the Oak Lawn building parameters for height, set-back, etc. So the building represents the exact building envelope that can be built on the site. There are more photos of our unit on the developers website (www.fairfaxdevelops.com) under The Envelope.
