I'm new to the world of Sketchup, but an old hat at Mcneels Accurender rendering package in autocad. Is there an easy way of eporting from SU to Autocad so that you can easily assign planes to layers? I guess what I'm asking is it possible to export to DWG and have it create objects based on material, or layers? Thanks in advance.

in your SU model, you can make each material as a separate layer. to do so, simply right click on a surface with the material you are using and choose select all of the same material, then simply place that into a layer of the materials name.

export dwg and when in your rendering program, assign materials based on the layers.

hey SWANK-E,
So how many genuine posts does one actually need to make, to get access to viewing some of the attachments? I'm just curious, and since you are a "Super-Moderator" I thought you might know. Thanks again.

hey Swank,
Thanks for the tips. Here's a little sample of what I'm working on. Can't get much further than this until the client sends me the topo, so I was just playing around with how well it transfers over.

There is now a exporter for SketchUp which renders using AccuRender.
