View Full Version : Eovia my newly Discovered Rendering software
Hi People:
I have met a peron who into animation and she turned me on to Eovia.com softwarecomapany.
I have down loaded the demo versionof Carrara and I am impressed.
I hope to test some of my results. I only spent 4 hours learning and begining to see results. It is easy to export from SU to Carrara.
Any one useing this sofware and SU. I am about to purcgase it and like some feedback.

Happy New Year
That certainly is a nice image. Only 169 bucks. Khadeer, have you rendered any images yet? I really need something for interiors. I really thought Maxwell would be it for my inside stuff, but we all know what a pipedream that is now!
Also, your link doesn't work for some reason. Let me try.

Gallery looks cool. How many rendering programs are there? One could spend a fortune trying to find the best one. In my own opinion, simple "sketchy" looking renderings are nicer.
I'm currently working on my own rendering program. I will be naming it NAP. Short for Not Another Program. The whole Maxwell debacle has given me a greater appreciation for native SU output. I'm going to stick with it.
lavardera 29-12-2005, 22:56 That does look good! Can you add any depth of field? Jake, I know there is a Mac version - would you be my rendering guinea pig again?

:D :D
There is a Yafray going around ( Yet another free ray tracer ) . For the time being I am going to stick to SU .

You can fake DOF in Photoshop if you need it.
Anytime Greg. Can we start earlier the next time!?
Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the deal with Maxwell?

I've seen better, but it certainly is very good! Plus for the money it's VERY good...

I've read talk about this before too... I'm looking forward to hearing about it!
*sits patiently waiting*
There is a Maxwell Render forum here (http://www.pushpullbar.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=18)
That will get you started.
The official site is here (http://www.maxwellrender.com/)
Sign in and go to the forum and read the off topic threads for a full understanding of what the Maxwell mess is all about.
BrianMyers 30-12-2005, 04:20 Thanks Jake,
It only took reading about 5 threads with a common theme to figure out what's been talked about.
Thanks again, as a newbie to this Forum its good to get help/information from those that have been around here a while.
Take care,
Brian
I am still learning Carrara.
THis is my first test. Materials straight from SU.
By the end of the week I hope to have a fancy one.
This is from a free (carrara) demo program anyone can download to learn
Khader
This might not be the right place for this question, but what is the favorite rendering program for everyone? 3ds Max, Viz, Maxwell (not according to this thread. Example only), etc? Or do you just render with SU materials then Photoshop it?
Cheetah3D (http://www.pushpullbar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1535&page=5&pp=10)

(This is my personal view of things... just so you know)
Maxwell took the wrong path a few weeks ago (or is it months?) The development team had to rewrite/code the core in order to keep up with the features they promised and with in a reasonable render time.
RC1-4 were bad releases to say the least, but RC5 is on it's way this week or the week after (a little safety margin here :-)) Victor posted lately that the development team actually compiled the new build but the beta team has to test it and approve it before release.
I truely hope Maxwell will get back on track ASAP.
As for EOVIA - Carrara...
I've been playing with it a little (very little) and i find it hard to grasp the model room and scnene room concept. it seems that when you want to edit somthing (ab object) it enters the modeling mode and hides the rest of the scene. i really need to test more to get the hang of this.
I would like to get a better grasp on Blender 2.40 - This free app looks very good now more then ever.

Take a look at this pool... you will get a good idea

So for the past 5 Days I have been playing with it.Havent even looked at the Carrara demo yet....I'm afraid to.I think I'm sold. The little devil on my sholder says ...open it up..take alook ...what could happen...and the angle is going don't be tempted...stay out of the guarden....don't listen to him... But after seeing your post here the devil wins. Going to open it up rigth now.
