This is part of his "most recent works" (check his link)
In 1999 he designed the plan for the university campus of Cordoba, the buildings were built during 2001-2002, the house in calamuchita was made in 2004.
Cordoba campus park and plan- 1999:
"It is proposed a politics of consolidation and definition of the character of the university campus with a park that unify the chaos of planimetric forms forms and buildings of intervention during 60 years with few definite orientation.
Two large green axes of girdles of 50 meters for 600 meters of pink "lapachos" oriented north-south and another of 50 meters for 1.000 meters of blue "jacarandaes" of greater importance in an axis east-west they mimic the Roman foundational rite of "Cardus and Decumano".
A circle of white, pink and yellow "lapachos" encircles the vast built area. The axes and the circle endow of unit and identity the central area of the park, leaving out of it the sports sectors and popular "sprawl" areas articulated with the surrounding neighborhoods.

Excellent links to Roca's work. I agree, it is an original work, based on some of Kahn's principles.
Viewed from outside, Cordoba seem to be more representative of argentinian culture than Buenos Aires, allways exposed to foreign influences. I could say, Cordoba is the cradle of argentinity.

Well whatever Argentinian culture is... Buenos Aires is 1/3 of them !
I do agree that Cordoba has its own characteristics but...
about foreign influences, as Borges said "Argentinians descend from the ships", so we are all immigrants (can be applied to Uruguay and Chile too).
And remember Roca studied with Louis Kahn so foreign influences... :wondering

Marcelo
This is an extraordinary presentation of a very talented and imaginative architect that I remembered for his very colorful and expressive public works as they were covered by the American architectural press some fifteen years ago. His modest yet exquisite plazas and public spaces were seen as representative of the contribution good design could make to any community, and as an example that talent was not solely available at "first" world metropolises.
The thing that surprises me is the relatively small scale of all the schools represented, while the building envelopes are so detailed and showing so many contortions. At times I feel that the strength of the concrete and the busy grid of mullions is overwhelming, yet the delicate interplay of spaces, the incredible articulation of light, structure and circulations is striking.
I had only seen such a 'tour de force' of design consistency in a campus setting in the work done by Klumb at the University of Puerto Rico's Rio Piedras campus. That was done over a twenty-year period, this was done in six.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I feel that each building could be seen as a separate subject, and offer us the opportunity to gain much from Roca's passion and virtuosity.
Saludos
Juan
