First of all, thanks all for your replies on my "new york tour" thread, when i get back next year gonna open a thread with all the images.

Now, on the same trip, theres a chance that i rent a car to go to Boston (if I still have some money left), if that the case, what would be the places to visit?

thanks.

MIT has some great architecture from architects such as Holl, Ghery, and Saarinen, however, the rest of the campus is rather drab, monotonous, urban crap. Run of the mill grid buildings. I took a trip up there last month, unfortunately I had a memory card failure with my new Canon Rebel Digital SLR, but I managed to still get some with my Nikon Coolpix 775. Here is some more of the Stata Center @MIT.

I guess that is enough pictures, unless you want more. If anyone does go to boston, do not forget about Harvard, has the only Corbu building in the Northwestern Hemisphere (Carpenter Center) as well as a Richardson building. On wednesdays at 1:45pm the Fogg Museum at Harvard plugs in a Degas sculpture. There is also a Degas exhibit at the Sackler at Harvard.

Also the Institute of Contemporary Art is free after 5:00pm on wednesday. They are also building a new ICA on Fan Pier by Diller and Scofidio. This will be my last pic.

Of course you also have to hit the historical architecture if you go to Boston (Beacon Hill, Faneuil Hall, Quncy Market, etc.)

I attend to a lot of lectures at the Graduate School of Design in Harvard from 2002 to 2004 and use to visit de Stata Center during construction. Some pictures to ilustrate the Boston subject.

This is for those who looked to Jason's picture and wonder how is gonna look like or maybe wanna wait until is done to visit Boston :D . On my case, the last time that I went over there they just had foundations and knowing about the project, was very frustrating :bang head . more informations at:

Nice Before and After!

Here is another image of the ICA under construction. The cantilever is 75'. Below balcony protruding under the cantilever is a digital media space. Not a place for those who get verdigo. On the ground unfer the balcony is going to be a wood planked walk and the pier will be filled with docking spaces for boats.

On the far side you can see the massive concrete web joist that runs the length of the building.

Jason - It may be worth posting that project as a seperate thread with information about the architects, the job, and your images.

Nice job!
