PAVILIONS IN A FAIRGROUND.
From author’s statement, Rafael Iglesia

The task consisted in projecting the infrastructure for an Amusement Park in the Parque de la Independencia in Rosario. Two buildings were designed and another was enlarged, as well the design of the necessary urban equipment and sundry installations of the Park. The buildings are pavilions. One is appointed for public bathrooms, offices and employees changing rooms and the other for social gatherings, bar, and a glassed room for electronic games. The enlarged existing building is used as a storehouse for the Park.
The first pavilion is located near the entrance of the Park and is a reinforced concrete structure enclosed with glass, the language of which is none other than the structure itself.
The pavilion for parties consists of a concrete slab supported by logs of quebracho colorado (Schinopsis balansae or lorentzii), placed on the perimeter. The slab simply rests and is anchored by a partition wall at one of its ends. In this structure the partition walls hang from the roof to give it more weight and stability. In the interior nothing reaches the floor, including the sink drainage that ends a few centimeters above the ground, in order that water may drain freely. The tables, bars and floors are wedged into these rigid concrete curtains. We are hereby presented with what is commonly termed “open plan”.
